casa barca amsterdam House-Boat Hotel Amsterdam

Hausboot 152
by Lotte

Great Location
by Terrence Light

The houseboat is in a great location just steps from a Tram stop; a much bigger advantage than we initially thought since the trams are the best way to get around the city. There are many restaurants, cafes, and shops in the area and a couple grocery stores within two blocks. It is also very quiet and we slept extremely well.
The apartment is fairly small since it is one of three on this boat; one other vacation rental and the host. We never really heard any noise from the neighbors though. The kitchenette is minimalistic but did what we needed it to do. The bed is very comfortable but somewhat tricky to get out of in the dark since it is on a four foot platform, but there are handy pull out steps.
The canal, the Prinsengracht, was very busy during the day with all manner of boats cruising by; mostly tour boats, but it was not noisy and we felt no motion at any time. My wife particularly enjoyed the daily visit from a pair of swans. There is one big window that opens on the canal for unobstructed views.
The host, Merel, was friendly and very accommodating of our needs. Since she lives right there on the boat she was very accessible.
All in all it was a wonderful week in a wonderful city full of very friendly people. We would happily return for another stay.

Gr8 Location, 100 Steps To Tram
by Robert West

We stayed here for 4 nites during Pride 2017. Canal Parade came right by so Couldn't have had better seats. It is pretty small, but worth it. Bed is very comfy. Elizabeth, the Owner, was awesome. Left several suggestions for us on cafes, coffee shops, things to see. Good thing we did carry shampoo & soap, as was not provided. No tv, just small table w/2 wooden chairs. One suggestion is to leave a note on how to pull out step for bed. Only one small complaint; the lite in bath is motion. Would cut off while in shower. Really enjoyed and most def would go back. Thank you for the gr8 experience.
