amsterdam houseboats rentals House-Boat Hotel Amsterdam

House-Boat B133 ***

On walking distance from Central Station and the Anna Frank House in the cosy Jordaan neighborhood.

Stay in at this houseboat will undoubtedly be the most memorizable experience about your stay in Amsterdam. The boat has been totally renovated in the fall of 2015, it is spacious and light and the interiour is warm and welcoming. But most important, very comfortable with many amenitities like wifi and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and microwave. The Brouwersgracht, where the boat is moored, is voted the most beautiful canal by the Amsterdam locals for many years now. The many authentic and original shops and café 's of the Haarlemmerstraat are just around the corner as well as the famous Noordermarkt.

For some culture you also don't need to travel far: the renewed Anna Frank House is within a ten minute walk from the boat and the Museum Square with the Rijksmuseum can easely be reached in 10 minutes by bike or public transport. As Lonely Planet discribes it, 'A former workers quarter, the Jordaan teems with cosy pubs, café's and galleries squashed into a grid of timy lanes. It's short on conventional sights, but there is no better place to lose yourself for an afternoon stroll.

The Jordam area is especially known for it's long history, characteristic canal houses, beautiful bridges and many little shops, café 's and restaurants. You will be able to sit on the deck with a good glass of wine and watch all the traffic on the water. We welcome our guests always with a nice bottle of wine and some snacks!

What a nice place to stay
by Hilde Helgøy

We used the boat for several days, it was easy to find, a very nice quiet location. Good facilities nearby, supermarket(s), wine stores and some very nice restaurants. We even made friends with the local ducks. The boat was nice and modern, and very pleasant to be in. Can't recommend this highly enough. Thank you for a great stay

The right way to visit Amsterdam
by Mike

Our stay at House-Boat B133 was absolutely delightful. Neli met us promptly as planned when we arrived and gave us a swift but thorough tour of the houseboat and its amenities. We were traveling as a family (2 parents and a 6-year-old), and needed a place that had 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a washer/dryer for laundry. Compared to most places you could find for similar prices on AirBNB, this luxury apartment was spectacular. Fine amenities, a spacious living/dining/kitchen room, a nice bathroom (small, but hey, it's a boat) and two beds.
This location is great - 2 minute walk to grocery store, dozens of restaurants, and just 10 mins or less walk to the Anne Frank house and to Amsterdam Centraal train station.
We visited in December, but I'm sure the houseboat is even more enjoyable in the summertime, when you can open the windows to the canal and let in the breeze. We did this anyway, in spite of the chilly weather, and were instantly greeted by dozens of ducks, swans, and seagulls looking for a bit of food. We obliged them often, which was an enjoyable treat for our daughter, ourselves, and the birds. Tour boats and others pass frequently (although the slow speed limit of 4mph on the canal means the moored houseboat does not rock), leading to many rounds of friendly waves between our boat and theirs.
Now for those of you who have never done this, there are a couple of things you should note. First, you must remember that this is a boat, and while it's very difficult to tell from this luxury apartment, boats are not exactly like land-based apartments. For example, they have sump pumps to eject all of the water from the apartment (sinks, shower, and toilet), so you cannot put everything down the drain that you might be used to doing in your home. When in doubt, use the trash bin. Second, the houseboat is at street level, which may be obvious, but you must be aware that this means you will have street noise. That said, the street of Brouwersgracht is fairly quiet. However, if you have trouble sleeping when people walk by your windows talking at night, or when cars or boats motor past, this experience might not be for you. But if it's me, the benefits (being so close to the canal, in this fantastic neighborhood, with ducks and swans ready to greet you in the morning, in a floating luxury apartment) far outweigh any street noise challenges, making this for me the best way to visit Amsterdam.

Best location in all of Amsterdam!
by Sophie

We just spent the weekend there and absolutely loved it! The location might be the best in all of Amsterdam: Really central, close to almost everything and yet quiet. The neighbourhood is really beautiful with lots of bars, shops and cafes around the corner. The boat itself is newly renovated and has everything you need. We enjoyed every moment of it and will definitely be back again!
