Room, Patio and Garage AK88 ****

Close to the centr you find this sunny bedroom with  kitchenette, study and patio on the ground floor of a totally renovated house, built in 1895. A heavenly tranquility in the middle of one of the most vibrant areas in the city. There is a garage to park your car for free.

Without any hestitation we dare to call this the nicest room in town, with complete privacy and everything you need for a short break! In a 15 minute walk you are on the Damsquare, around the corner you find the longest market in Amsterdam and within 10 minutes you are by the Heineken Brewery, the Vondelpark and the Rijksmuseum.

The house has bright colors and it offers a perfect combination of old details with modern comfort.  The large palm tree in the middle of the patio is beautiful. The room is fairly exclusive and very relaxing with a private sauna and boxspring of 1.20 mtr. wide and 2.10 mtr. The use of the sauna 12,50 euro, but the first time it's free of charge! From the bed you can watch televison. The room has a large skylight with an electrical operated curtain.

In the room is a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. The patio offers privacy  to cool off after the sauna, or to take a  sun bath. The study/office has to be shared, but is daily available and you can receive eventual visitors. In the study is an second water closet. In the garage you find a washer and dryer, iron and ironingboard. There are kitchen utilities to prepare breakfast or lunch and a microwave. Two supermarkets and a bakery are only a few steps away.

The house is located in the middle of the Pijp. The neighborhood is lively and quite busy and there are many small businesses, shops and art galleries established. Not to forget, the Albert Cuyp market behind the house, the longest market in the Netherlands. On the corner are at least 8 restaurants and even more café's, because this is the place to be for locals. You can rent bikes in the street but also walk to nearly all interesting places, the Rijksmuseum, the Leidsesquare, Casino, the Utrechtsestaat (exclusive clothes), Rembrandtsquare and Concertbuilding are all in less then 10 to 15 minutes to reach by footh.

Room & Garage in Amsterdam
by Thomas from Germany

Hello,
If you travel to Amsterdam by car and will spend a couple days of vacation the parking fees will kill you!
Not at "Room & Garage AK88".
You can park your car in the private garage for resonable money, right in the nice neigbourhood of the Pijp!
The location of the accomodation is just perfect and the hosts are very friendly.
I will book this definately again next year.
Highly recommended!

Room & Garage

Hi,
I found this accommodation very convenient for my trip to Amsterdam. I was attending a conference at the RAI and it was a short bike trip from here. The area is interesting as well.
The room was small but there was an en-suite and even a sauna. All very clean and well organized.
Thanks, EFH.

Apatment with Garage in Oud-Zuid
by David Gillett

This apartment was an oasis of calm in the middle of a very busy , vibrant, and noisy city.
The area,Oud-Zuid, is a little further down from Station Central, but it was very close to Rijksmuseum, Heineken Experience, and Van Gogh Museum.Next door was the famous Albert Cuypt Market. Do go!
My hosts were so kind and helpful, they gave me directions, bought me beer, did my laundry and talked to me when I was lonely. I had my own garden with a palm tree! I just wish I had had a stove, so I could have taken advantage of all the fresh fish that Amsterdam has to offer. All in all it was a great place to stay. David G.
