House-Boat B121 ****
This grand former sailing boat had been newly converted into a fully functional and high-standard contemporary living since November 2014. Two bedrooms are on offer and ideally suitable for four persons. Beside of nestling in the oldest and secluded part of Amsterdam’s city center - the Nieuwmarkt, this houseboat is also mooring peacefully at the corner of two canals: the picturesque and much photographed Raamgracht and Groenburgwal with the splendid backdrop of the majestic Zuiderkerk (Southern church) and yet only few steps away from the city’s most thriving neighborhood offering from world class opera and ballet at the Muziektheater to the city’s best chocolate of Puccini Chocolaterie among a myriad of specialized shops, cafes, eateries and other highly regard establishments such as the famous Rembrandt House, the must see conceptual Droog Design Company (Dry Design Company), the Gassan Diamonds, etc.
The former captain steering house is situated at boat’s aft and served as the boat’s entrance, and has been converted into a welcome and relaxing lounge. Here guests can chill out with glass of wine while marveling the calm and tranquil surrounding of the canals, the humpback Raamgracht bridge and the Zuiderkerk’s distinctive tower. In addition, to enjoy the same stunning view and atmosphere from outside, guests can make-use of the deck located just outside and in front of the steering lounge.
Descending of few steps, guests will enter the boat’s delightful open-layout interior and be impressed with the vast lightness due to plenty of natural light flushing in from skylights and two facing walls dotted with series of original porthole windows. The separate WC is situated on the left and next to the sizeable bathroom comprising a designed washbasin, built-in storage cabinet and a walk-in shower unit adorned with rain shower cap. After the bathroom comes the spotlessly new kitchen, it is strikingly modern and completely equipped with top of the range products to make guests feeling at home here. The spacious living area has a comfortable leather sofa and avant-garde fauteuil chairs opposite the state of the art home entertainment system with a large flat screen TV, Hi-Fi equipment and Wi-Fi to ensure a comfortable stay. In this area you will also find the dining table which will comfortably seat up to six guests. The two bedrooms are to be found at the boat’s former bow and accessible via the corridor. Both bedrooms offer super deluxe and comfortable king-size beds. The main bedroom has extra features such as the skylight, air-conditioning and built-in wardrobe. Whereas the king-size bed in the second bedroom can be converted into two single beds.
