House-Boat B094 ****
This architectural gem is a brand new palace right in the Amstel River at the hippest area of Amsterdam. The pijp is called the quartier latin of Amsterdam and is full of exciting bars and cute little restaurants and shops. The houseboat is designed by an architect and very light and spacious. The boat has two terraces for morning sun and early afternoon. And a swimming stair so you can swim right in the Amstel River.
There are two rooms with big sliding doors towards the river with amazing view The bathroom has a sunken bathe with a window so that when you are in bath you look outside and see the water at the same level as the water in the tub. Perfect live ducks in the bath :-) It has a rain shower and a roof-window above the shower so you can shower in the morning sun or underneath the stars. The bed is a split level floor in which two separate mattresses are developed. You can arrange these mattresses so you can sit up straight. There is convector heating, a convenient way to ensure a comfortable tempeture. Public transport is very close. The tram or the metro opposite the river will take you anywhere. Taking the bike or running alongside the river is one of the favourite leisure things for the locals. You will cycle to the windmill in 15 minutes, or take a 8 km run return to the windmill. The area is very safe for women traveling alone. When you enter the houseboat you will first enter to a little private garden/patch you can put your bikes here. So if you like space, water, design, vintage furniture, great views and a balcony and garden go for it!
'De Pijp' as we Amsterdammers know it today is without doubt a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. The Pijp is known for the vividness of it, and almost feels like a little village inside the city. De Pijp is brimming with fantastic cafés, culinair restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Within walking distance from the apartment you will find popular sites such as the Heineken Museum, the Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark, The Royal Concerthall, Paradiso, Leidseplein and the Rijksmuseum. The Albert Cuyp market (just round the corner) is the most famous day market in Amsterdam. It will take about five minutes by foot to get to the center of Amsterdam. You will also be able to take the tram, stops are only a three minutes walk from the houseboat. De Pijp is also known for it's shops, bars and muliticultural restaurants. The Sarphatipark and the Vondelpark are just around the corner. You will make it to the highway (A1, A2 and Ring A10) in just a couple of minutes The houseboat is about 70m2 but looks a lot bigger because the architect has designed it to be spacious.
