House-Boat B038 ***

Dit historische 'laad' zeilschip werd in de 19de eeuw en deels in de 20ste eeuw gebruikt voor transport. Zij is nog steeds in de authentiek staat waardoor de zeilen niet zo hoog zijn (1.90 m). Dit zeilschip is in 1988 gebouwd als een Haagsche Aak en is één van de oudste van Amsterdam. Deze boot (De Adriana) ligt  middenin de Jordaan en dichtbij het Anne Frank huis en het Centraal Station. De woonboot B066 ligt ernaast.
 
Door middel van een stevig bruggetje (met leuningen) komt u aan bij een luik-achtige entree (met een steile trap!) Deze accommodatie is gezellig en traditioneel ingericht. Zo is de oude kapiteinskamer met een tweepersoonsbed nog geheel in tact. Hiernaast is de badkamer met een toilet en een douche. In de woonkamer is er een slaapbank en een kitchenette en door de vele patrijspoorten en ramen in het dak is het binnen heel licht. Aan de voorkant van de boot staat er een tweepersoonsbed. Ook is er een televisie, een radio, een cd-speler en snel draadloos internet.
 
Vanaf het dek heeft u een prachtig uitzicht over de gracht en op de typische Amsterdamse grachtenhuizen en in deze buurt vindt u vele verschillende cafés, winkels, restaurantjes en de zaterdagmarkt. Op verzoek serveert uw host u een ontbijtje.

Lovely boat

Had a great few days in Amsterdam-3 of us including a teenager. The boat was easy to get to walking from central station, having flown in from UK. We recognised it from google earth and went across the gangway to call hello down inside. Jeroen was happy to show us round and make us welcome. The stove is on all the time, which made the boat lovely and cosy, and lots of hot water when required. Towels a plenty, (teenager used some to be curtains over the windows, plus a bucket outside to cover her porthole over the bed!) met the coot family nesting noisily beside the boat, making nest out of twigs and bits of rubbish- mr coot seen bringing a straw and paper while mrs nagged him incessantly.
We walked to lots of sights and lovely local shops and restaurants, taking a while to get used to the bikes whiz zing past. Hired bikes from Mac bikes and did a fantastic trip along the Amstel to see windmills and other crazy cyclists. This was the best bit of the holiday-highly recommend it even if it feels a bit mad to begin with, the bike rules!
Local bakery on corner of street does lovely croissants etc for breakfast and shamed us with their a ability to speak English so well.
Thanks jeroen for a great base to see a lovely city.

It as wonderful, we loved the boat, Jeroen was perfect and very helpful and we enjoyed out time in Amsterdam. Our recommandation, the boat and the location of the boat is great :-)!!
