The ‘blauwe’ Jantje is located on the edge of the very popular Jordaan in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, just a short walk from the Central Station Amsterdam. Around the corner there is the famous Noordermarket (market days are Saturday and Monday), Anne Frank House and many restaurants, cafés and pubs. This is the place to experience Amsterdam.
 
In 2012,  the owner lovingly renovated the boat that has a colourful history.  It was originally built in 1934 to be tugged around Amsterdam with deck freight. The owner christened her, after his wife, ‘Jantje’.  Jantje was known for liking a drink or two. Very quickly the people of Amsterdam named the boat the ‘blauwe’ Jantje. Blauw is not only the colour blue but also means intoxicated in street language.
 
This colourful history was the theme for the interiour of the boat, which is blue. The boat has a  well-equipped open plan kitchen,  a bathroom and a separate toilet. The spacious master bedroom has a king size bed. There is also a smaller bedroom with a bunk bed.  The owner is a wonderful host who has received many guests on his other boat, House-Boat B026.

Wirklich super!

Wir verbrachten 5 wunderbare Tage in Amsterdam in dem Hausboot B092. Es war zwar kalt und regnerisch, im Boot war es aber super warm und gemütlich. Es war alles da, was man braucht, das Boot liegt sehr günstig, alles kann man zu Fuß erreichen.
Das Boot kam man nur empfehlen, vieln Dank an den netten Landlord, Herrn Backer.

Excellent location

We stayed in this houseboat in October, it was beautifully presented in a modern interior. But the best part was the location, it was central but in a quiet corner. The owner met us there with some helpful tips.
