Had a great time and found the apartment comfortable and very functional. It was rainy and the apartment, probably like most in central Amsterdam, had very few windows so there is a bit of a cave like feel to the place. The property owners were good and all of the transactions were easy and as expected.

The truth is that my first visit to the city could not have been better, respect to the housing.

The house is very well located within 15 minutes walk, you are in the center, is very friendly (and is larger than it looks in the photos), has all necessary amenities stile / designee, and is especially warm , which is appreciated after having been all day sightseeing.

both myself, my boyfriend and my sister, who were the ones that enjoyed the apartment, definitely recommend it.

This was our 3rd stay in Amsterdam, so have become custom to very small rooms. However, we were very surprised at the size of this apartment, great space. It was very clean and modern, with all gadgets available.
It is not quite in the centre, but the metro staion is about 50 metres from the front door, and costs less than 3 Euros to get to central station, even catching a cab back late at night was only 8 Euros.
As we were so near to the centre we didn't really look around the immediate area apart from visiting the local supermarket just around the corner, but it seemed quite at night, even with the ambulance station being a couple of doors down.
We visited late October and the apartment was lovely and warm, host was very helpful and friendly. We would definately recomment this apartment and will be booking again if we return to Amsterdam.

I stayed in AS25 for around 7 weeks while I was working in Amsterdam.
The apartment is well situated and well equipped.
Like others have said, it is next to an ambulance depot.
But they do not make much noise and they wait until they are on the main street before they turn on their sirens. I'm a light sleeper and that did not bother me at all.

So all in all, it's a great apartment with all the equipment you need to feel at home.
And Frank is a great host!

L'appartement est bien situé et bien desservi par les transports publics. L'aménagement est confortable et pratique.
Toutefois, vu sa situation, proche du dépôt des ambulances qui véhiculent toute la nuit, face à un centre hospitalier, et étant en rez de chaussé avec une isolation précaire, ce studio n'est pas à conseillé aux personnes cherchant de la tranquilité.

hi, the apartment is really good in equipment, stile/design and situation. (10 minutes walking to the center)
You have everything that you can need, everything per cook, wifi, tv, etc....
The only problem that we see in that apartment, is doesn't have any window...no sun, no fresh air...
Maybe they should think to have the possibiblity to open the front window...now is not possible...

The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped bonito.muy had everything necesitaba.y also the apartment was always with the heating at a comfortable temperature with the cold that Amsterdam is greatly appreciated.

My husband and I stayed here for a week the end of Sept. 2010. Location was great--walking distance to everything, metro right near by. Apt. well furnished and very comfortable. Frank very hospitable. Never met Thea. Everything very clean. Overall, very enjoyable stay and would stay here again.

I stayed here for 8 nights in October and it was perfect for what I needed.

As noted in the description the kitchen is particualry good and well kitted out. I used the kitchen virtually everyday after shopping at the Albert Heijn supermarket down the road (about a 4/5 minute walk.

It's very well located - only a 10/15 minute walk from Waterlooplein/Rembrandtplein and literally opposite a metro stattion (Weesperplein).

There a decent cafe next door but I didn't eat there. There is another bar on the other end of the street which seemed busy but again didn't eat there.

Would stay there again.

I recently spent 5 nights at this large studio apt. and was very pleased with my choice. The metro is extremely close and is only 3 stops from Central Station; once settled in, we found the nearby trams very easy to use. Unfortunately, the washer/dryer was out of order when we arrived. Our wonderful host, Frank, offered to do a load for us, which was much appreciated after spending 2 weeks in France with no facilities.

We spent a great time in this apt, perfect position close to waterloo plein, very clean and Frank was really a special person!

My wife and I spent 5 lovely days in Amsterdam 5/17-22, 2010. Frank Honig, the owner (didn't get a chance to meet Thea) was great. Our train arrived late, close to midnight, but he let us in and gave us the tour of the apartment. The apartment itself was charming, very clean and servicable. Kitchen well supplied, bed very comfortable, neighborhood quiet in spite of ambulance garage next door! They must wait until they're around the block to turn on the sireen because we were never woken up! Nice cafe next door and grocery store 2 blocks away. Great area of town, easy to walk everywhere.
Clothes washer was not working when we were there, but no worries, Frank did our laundry and left it folded outsidde our door-fantatstic!

Frank has a reliable car service which we used to get to Schiphol airport. Marcel arrived on time at 5:30am in a s new Audi S8 and we were there in under 20 minutes.

We would definitely stay here again - Thanks Frank!!!!

We have been welcomed by the owner even if we came from the airport at 11 pm.
The owner was very kind and helpful.
The apartment is very cosy, design and clean.
It is placed at 5 minutes from the city center by walk.
I will come back to the same apartement next time.

So the aptartment was very clean and had all one would need (full kitchen, large bathroom, TV, bed, and the most comfortable cot I have slept on). It is just outside, what I would call, the city "center." So it is a quiet get away from the hustle and bustle; while an easy walk to all the attractions.

Our flight was late in getting in, yet the owner made himself available to make sure we could check in and get the key.

It was so nice that we had a couple friends from Amsterdam come over for dinner our last night.

This is where I will stay my next visit.

The apartment AS25 is perfect for a couple, who likes to live in the city centre of Amsterdam. You don't need any vehicule, because you can reach all sightseeing points in A'dam by foot. We loved to stay in this apartment! It is spacious, has a great kitchen, the bed is comfortable, it has a nice bathroom etc. Our hosts were very nice and we felt really welcome!

He pasado 14 días maravillosos en el apartamento de Frank y Thea. Son muy amables y siempre están dispuestos a ayudar en todo lo que se necesita.
El apartamento está magnificamente situado, junto a la parada de metro y tranvías, aunque se puede ir andando al centro de la ciudad. Y está muy bonito decorado y completamente preparado para una estancia agradable y tranquila.
Tiene un supermercado grande muy cerca y muchos restaurantes a 15 minutos andando.

First of all, congratulations for choosing Amsterdam as destination ! You'll enjoy it for sure and your stay will be really different if you choose an accomodation such as this one rather than staying in any hotel you would find anywhere!!

This apartment is well located, not too far from main interesting areas. You will find everything you need to enjoy your stay there (except an ashtray as the apartment is non smoking! :-).

The host is very nice and is available in case of problems during the stay (he leaves in the same building).....but we hadn't any problem so we just saw him upon arrival!!

The owners Frank and Thea where a great help with information and a cab service
to the airport.
I would recommend this place if you want some quite and not in the little of all the chaos, yet very close to everything. The cafe on the corner is awesome

The location is perfect - you can basically walk anywhere. Bus station is in the next street, not even 50 Meter away. Cafes, Zen-Yoga retreat and supermarket in 30 seconds distance. The apartment itself is bright, clean, new, wonderful design. The person who took care of the apartment at the time was very nice, professional, open and easy going. There was a bottle of wine in the fridge when we arrived... This place is for everyone who is looking for an oasis. Amsterdam is wonderful and so is this non-smoking place. We had throughout the complete time cold and rainy weather, but this place and the city made up for it. Highly recommended especially for people with allergies. Wooden floor, leather coach, Bosch-fridge. Anytime again. Price ok, too.

Great location (10 metres from Metro!), very well equipped apartment with helpful owners (on site). Lots of supermarket shopping available within 2 or 3 minutes.
Everwhere within walking distance - if you don't mind walking and chancing the cyclists!! However, I'd recommend hiring a cycle or getting to know the Metro system. It would make life easier - if a little unhealthier!

We were quite impressed with the flat. It was chic, stylish, and immaculately clean. There is a wonderful fully stocked kitchen and hardwood floors. It is perfect for people with dust mite allergies! The flat is only 3 metro stops from the centre, located 10 m. from a nice café, and a 2 minute walk from a supermarket. The host is very friendly and extremely helpful, plus he speaks fluent German. Guests also get a bottle of wine as a welcoming gift. Comes highly recommended.

I stayed at Frank's apartment for four nights in January 2008 and found it very convenient - especially the access to the metro station which is literally over the street and had me at my daily destination of RAI within twenty minutes each day for a pittance. The studio itself is very well equipped if you like to cook for yourself... if you can't be bothered of course there is a cafe right next door. I for one would most certainly stay there again.

My wife and I didn't want to spend a regular family christmas in Paris, so we book a nice studio in Amsterdam. Brillant idea the studio was very well equiped and warm, in a very nice neibourghood.
We will definitly be back and book again on houseboat hotel.

I stayed at the AS25 apartment on Valckenierstraat in mid-November 2007 for 6 nights. I highly recommend it. Thea and Frank, the owners, were extremely helpful and nice. The apartment was squeaky clean! Its location is also great -- right on the 7 and 10 tram lines (for Leideseplein) and directly at a Metro subway stop (for Centraal Station). Plenty of dishes to cook with if you want to save a little on food. Microwave, stove, refrigerator, coffeemaker, etc. Albert Heijn grocery store is just a few minutes away by foot. Comfortable bed, and plenty of space for a studio apartment. Again, I highly recommend this accommodation!

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment's well situated just outside the town centre (nice short walk into town and the more obvious touristy areas) and surprisingly spacious and well-furnished.
Highly recommended as an affordable get-away well-placed to enjoy a break in the city and Frank & Thea are excellent hosts.

The appartment is great. We were there for 5 days with our 9 month old daughter. As previously said it is fully equipted (great kitchen) and we cooked food everyday. The supermarket is near (4 minutes walk). Frank (the owner) is very friendly and warm, he lives just above the appartment and ready to help in every request.

Public transportation (Metro and Tram) are very close, but we preffered walking. City center is within 15 minutes walk along the Amstel canal.

We will defenitely recommand the place for our friends and will return on our next trip to Amsterdam.

The appartment was clean, tidy and roomy. Very well situated for metro ( 50 mtrs ) and tram ( 150 mtrs ), which in turn is about five minutes from centre. Handy bar ( 20 mtrs ) for breakfast and more, but no noise at night. Good supermarket - 500 mtrs. Any problems, the owner lives upstairs and speaks very good English. This is a stylish apartment on the ground floor. As other reviewers have noted, the kitchen is comprehensively equipped. The bathroom is nice, except that the basin is indeed very tiny and there is no radiator or warmed towel rail. As a previous reviewer commented, we missed the presence of a chair or little sofa that would enable two to relax together in comfort. The location is excellent - just a few metres from a short, fast metro link into the centre of town, and with a good supermarket, cafes etc only a short walk away. We were warmly received for our late September 07 stay, and the little local map and notes that Thea left for us were a thoughtful and welcome detail.

First class apartment in a fantastically central location, 10 steps to the Metro. Warm and cosy with everything (and more) you would expect. Perfect for young or old. The hosts Frank and Theo were extremely helpful and genuinely lovely people. Would reccommend to anyone, much better value than a hotel. Will certainly be staying again.

We stayed in this apartment for 4 nights and it was great - we would definitely recommend it. The location was great - in a quiter neighborhood, yet close enough to walk anywhere in the city. We really enjoyed having a place to come back to in the evenings with a full kitchen and an Albert Hein grocery store right around the corner. Overall it worked out really well and we would keep it in mind for future visits.

We needed a peaceful base after several weeks of European travel and found it here. Very well located beside the metro, tram and canals. Plenty of interest within walking distance.
Our hosts were very pleasant and attentive with welcomed advise on activities.

A very cool and cozy apartment. Funky style, nice and clean and close to shops cafes and restaurants.

Its only a couple of stops on the metro to central station or a few minutes on the tram or busses to jordaan and the museums. But not far to walk or bike at all :-) but we had a little rain and preferred the tram.

A perfect spot to have as a base when experiencing Amsterdam.

My husband and I have just returned from staying 7 days in this apartment. Very nice and clean. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. it is very convenient to the subway station, which we used quite frequently.Grocery store very close so we could buy our own food and save tons on meals out. Washing machine allowed us to pack less.
One suggestion: living room area needs one more comfy chair so that 2 can sit and watch TV in the evening. Also bathroom sink is very tiny, so be prepared.
Hosts brought lovely flowers and were a pleasure to visit with.

The apartment is gorgeous - very convenient and very chic for anyone who loves interiors!
There's easily enough space to chill out and the kitchen facilities are great.
The light in the apartment is gorgeous - a lovely place to read, have a glass of wine or just unwind after a day exploring Amsterdam.
Lots of lovely places nearby to eat and Amsterdam is a gorgeous romantic place to be.

Fantástico apartamento en fantástica ciudad. Los propietarios nos facilitaron en todo momento la estancia, nos obsequiaron con un detalle en la bienvenida y nos dieron oportunas indicaciones.
El apartamento está muy bien situado, a poca distancia del centro, dando un paseo, y a un paso del metro. Dispone de todo lo necesario para pasar unos dias agradables.

A lovely apartment in a quiet location. A 15 minute walk (or 5 min bike ride) from the town centre but when it's flat who cares...! The apartment was spacious, clean, light and accommodating. The bathroom was of a high quality and the shower had a bucket head. All in all a good choice. Next time though we'd prefer to be west of the centre in the jordaan area as we spent most of our time here but it depends what you are looking for. Where we were was good for the parks and museums so if you're in Amsterdam for these then it's an excellent location.

A great little apartment, right next to the metro and only 2 minutes from the tram. Its in a great district with lots of cafes and bars a short walk away and a supermarket round the corner. Its also right near the amstel so a pretty place to be. The apartment is furnished very nicely and they've thought of everything you need in the kitchen and to enjoy your stay. The owner is really friendly and pleased to help out with anything you need. There is also a guest book with some great reviews and suggestions for things to do while you are there. This made a really nice base for our stay and I would definately stay here again if I was to go back to Amsterdam.

We are a young professional couple and we stayed in this apartment for 4 nights and thoroughly recommend this apartment. The facilities, especially the kitchen and bathroom were excellent and lots of personal touches and treats for the guests such as lots of good quality towels, bath salts and a bottle of wine on arrival. The fact that it had a washing machine and dishwasher made it a home away from home. It is in a nice local location but very close to the main city centre. The hosts are very hospitable and provided handy hints and tips to see the city from a local perspective.

Our stay in Frank and Thea's apartment was really enjoyable and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Frank couldn't have been more welcoming and showed us everything we needed to see in the apartment when we first arrived. The kitchen was positively 'state of the art' and the shower one of the biggest I've ever used - easy to use and plenty of hot water all the time. There wasn't anything I can think of that they could have improved on.

Amsterdam itself is positively wonderful, so full of things to do and see and one tremendous advantage of Frank and Thea's apartment is that it is only a few steps from the Metro.

I wouldn't hestitate to go to Frank and Thea's again - it's central, comfortable and welcoming.

Our trip to Amsterdam was very enjoyable and it was vital that accommodation was satisfactory as my girlfriend was a bit nervous about the city. I decided to find accommodation outside the centre so that we could experience the hustle and bustle and the quiet side of amsterdam.

I was slightly aprehensive about the studio apartment but pleasantly surprised. The couple that own it are very nice. We were given a very nice welcome and shown around. The studio is absolutely perfect if you want quality for a good price. The kitchen is great and looks very nice, they have taken alot of care with this apartment and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The metro is perfectly situated on the opposite side of the road and is 2 stops from Centraal Station.

Thank You very much for making our stay very memorable, it was so nice to come home to this place.

Very stylish and modern apartment, with home touches to make it very comfortable- including fresh flowers, a hairdryer and a helpful stack of Amsterdam guides. The apartment was in a brilliant location, right next to the Metro and very handy for the trams. Lots of busy cafes, restaurants and a supermarket nearby. And Frank and Thea were fantastic hosts, very friendly. Highly recommended!!

Very stylish, cosy and atmospheric apartment well situated adjacent to a metro station so only a few minutes ride into Amsterdam Centre. The Amstel River is just around the corner and shops restaurants are all within a few minutes walk. We really enjoyed our stay. Hire bikes and suddenly the whole city opens up to you and you feel less like a tourist and more like a local. Great fun!

Frank and Thea were charming hosts. The apartment has two great pluses, it is very close to the Metro and there are no stairs - access is level. The apartment is spacious and well equipped with cooker, washing machine/dryer and dishwasher. The layout is unusual with insufficient room around the bed. The bath/shower we found difficult to use [ becauseof our age ?] as it is pretty high and the washhand basin minute. It would have been nice to have been able to open a window. It was all very clean and tidy and was cleaned during our stay.

Condo is in a great locatoin near the metro line. Restaurants and shopping are nearby. The condo is large for a studio and had all conveniences. The host and hostess were very nice and made maps of local attractions. We found it to be a very positive experiece and would stay there again and recommend the condo to friends/family.

This is a high quality, stylish and comfortable apartment. It's spotlessly clean and the kitchen is fabulous. The apartment is also quite large, particularly by Amsterdam standards, and bright.

It was certainly easy to get to all parts of the city by public transport, and the tourist areas were within reasonable walking distance. But I enjoyed staying in a part of Amsterdam that's slightly outside the tourist centre, it felt more 'real'. There are bars, restaurants, a supermarket, a cinema and even a pool hall within a couple of blocks.

The studio was fantastic. It had a very good situation in the city and very clean and comfortable. The propietary was very kind and she helps me a lot with the trains, metros,...with the comunications in general from the airport and with a map of the city with the important places.

My husband and I just returned from our 5 days in this apartment. It was just what we were looking for. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The apartment is in such a great location. You can walk just about anywhere. Or do public transport when you're tired. Equally as convenient. We really loved the kitchen. The stove is beautiful. And check out the fixtures in the bathroom and kitchen as well. They're really unique and fun. Thanks so much Frnk and Thea for everything. We'll be back as soon as we can!

we are a family of three, and we spend 4 days in this apartment. What I have to say first is the apartment owners are very friendly, and they throught about every detail of things we needed upon arrival. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and stylish. The location is very good as well, just 10 meters to the metro entrance. We usually walked to the city center because the area is interesting as well. We feel the place is worth of what we have paid for.

We stayed there 5 days with my sister and we liked this apartment a lot! Very stylish and comfortable! Althouhg it´s not very centrally located it was really easy to use public transportation, especially metro. The Rembrandtsplein and it´s cool clubs were in walking distance! ;) And last but not least the hosts were very friendly and helpfull! Thanks Thea and Frank!

The house is perfect for 2 person(couple) and the look is brand new.
The owners lives upstairs so any kind of request is easy
the location is not very central but it is 10 nminutes walking from red light distrikt and 5 minutes from Rembrant plain.(rent a bike)
