We spent 4 nights in Amsterdam in this apartment and had a lovely stay. The apartment was very cosy and comfortable, had everything we needed and was in a great location. We would definately stay here again!

We stayed in this apartment in Amsterdam for 4 nights and I just wish we could have been there longer! The apartment was stunning, beautifully furnished and comfortable with everything you could need and in an excellent location opposite a gorgeous canal. Could not fault this accommodation at all and would highly recommend it. Thanks for having us!

my 9th time in Amsterdam in the last 10 years, and regardless how much money you gonna spend on a hotel, if its 3 star or 5 star, there is always the disappointment that youre gonna end up in a very small dutch style room,
we will defenatly reccomend staying here again in future, excellent appartment, excellent location, no negative points.

I have just returned from a short stay in the beautiful Canal Apartment. It is a wonderful space, centrally located in the most atmospheric area of Amsterdam.
The building is historic, peaceful and charming. The only sounds were the bicycle wheels meandering by the canal outside. I would recommend this apartment highly.

I was staying in the appartments AS31 for 3 days in the begin of November 2010 and I foun flat very comfortable, clean and nice.
The only small remarks I would like to tell about the hairdryer, lightening (a bit dark), not very friendly system of heating and weak wireless signal... Bed also was a bit strange. All that small problems easily can be fixed.
The rest is totally fine, especially nice bathroom, kitchen, furniture, design and TV.
Thanks for the hospitality and will be sure come back to Amsterdam and hope to see you again.

We stayed here in Spring and the apartment was perfect. Great location - quiet but still fairly central. The apartment was clean and beautifully decorated. Plus it had the best fresh coffee i have ever tasted! The only minor grumble i would say was that there were no leaflets or tourist info in the apartment. It wouldn't take much to find a few local leaflets and a map and put them on the coffee table. Having said that, i would definitely recomment the apartment to anyone wanting a romantic weekend in Amsterdam. We loved it.

this is the second time we have used houseboathotel.nl and i must say that both times we have been very happy with the accommodations.
This time we stayed in the canal AS31 studio flat in the prisengracht area of amsterdam.
The flat is quite central and within walking distance to most places of interest.
Prisengracht has plenty of nice cafés and bars and has a large choice of restaurants all close by the flat.
The flat is very well laid out,very clean, compact and fully equiped..
there is a large bathroom with a double sized bath and plenty of hot water!
i would recommend this flat to any couple /persons visiting amsterdam and must add an extra thank you to stephano for his warm welcome while checking in.
all in all a very good choice in a lovely area.

What a beautiful apartment! On a quiet street within walking distance of central Amsterdam, this really was a great place for two people to stay. When we arrived, we were given a very lovely welcome, the apartment was spotless and absolutely beautiful. We definately would stay there again. Thanks

One of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed in. Central location, excellent eating places at walking distance and a couple of very adorable cafes opposite of the flat by the canal. The flat is beautiful and has everything you may need. In addition the owner is extremely helpful and we were pleasantly surprised to be welcomed with bottle of wine and beer free of charge. It was deffinitely value for money.

I stayed in the apartment together with my wife for four days during the last week of April.
The apartment was just as shown on the photos. The ceiling is quite low but with my 1,83m I still didn't hit the beams. It was very clean and provides everything to be comfortable during longer stays too.
The kitchen is well equipped and even has a toaster which we liked a lot since we didn't have to go out to buy any rolls in the morning. There where provided a new flannel, sponge, two towels and soap for cleaning the dishes, so thers's no need to bring those things along.
We found the matress of the bed to be too soft, but against out concerns our backs didn't hurt in the morning. Moreover we didn't like that the bed had only one blanket for the too of us, but the next day's visit to the Albert Cuyp Market showed us that this seems to be traditional in Holland.
As the appartment is in the basement it is quite cool. My wife suffers a little bit from rheumatism an said that she felt the humidity that spread from the canal into the apartment. In my opinion she felt this way because during the first two days the central heating was not working. It was turned on on the third day in the morning, maybe by someone in the upper apartments which where in renovation (on one occasion the hammering went on until 0:30 in the morning when I complained).
The bath room is quite large and very comfortable. Candles were placed around the bath tub (and around the apartment as well) liquid soap for the bath tub and to wash one's hands was provided as well as two towels for each person.
The shower door didn't close properly so there was a small pool in front of the shower after using it. The next day we blocked the door shut with the kitchen flannel when taking a shower and the problem was gone. Maybe the owner could have this fixed some time.
We received a free bottle of wine on our first day and could leave our luggage in the appartment to fetch it in the afternoon on out last day which was very nice of our host.
The appartment was available from 12:00 o'clock on the first day and had to be left at 10:00 o'clock on the last day. It is 20m from the tram station "Prinsengracht" of Tram No. 4 and really well placed in the city: Waterloo Plein, Leideplain and Museum Plein can be reached within a 15 minutes walk, just as a Lidl supermarket and the Albert Cuyp Street Market where we bought our food.
I think the appartment is perfect for a stay during the summer because it won't get too warm in there. When the central heating is working it is comfortable in the last week of April too (with temperatures about 13-16°C outside).

This is a very nice place.
Walking distance to all the main attractions of the city,
but the surroundings are relatively quiet.
The flat is clean and cosy.
The guest was friendly, informative and he was at our complete disposal. I definitely recommend the place.

My girlfriend and I spent a perfect week-end in Amsterdam.

As we arrived by car, the owner proposed us to drive us to a free parking area (in the suburb of Amsterdam) and to bring us back to the appartment. Very cool !
