Brilliant, brilliant location in the heart of town, but away from the real busy areas. Very beautiful apartment with lots of space. 5 adults (inc 1 couple) all had a room each. Given the time of year, it was possible we'd be chilly, but the flat was warm and cosy! Would definitely stay here again, in fact we're planning to in the Spring!

Absolutely excellent apartment. could not ask for anything more. Loved every minute of are stay plenty of room and very central to everything. Would highly recommend this apartment and would certainly stay here again.

We stayed in the apartment A004 for 4 days and it couldn`t be better. 4 "grown up boys" on a boys trip to Amsterdam, very very good place to stay. The hospitality was very friendly and helpfull, no trouble at all...Close to everything and in the same time very quaiet and calm area. You can sit on the sofa in the living room and look out of the big windows directly into the bridge and street below, good athsmophere.....

If you're looking for a 3-4 bed apartment, with a great view, over 3 floors in Amsterdam, then just book this. Merchant house built in 1647, modern homely interior, overlooking lovely Singel canal. Its in a great location really close to the centre without being touristy. Can be a little loud in the main front rooms but its such a compact city that youll have noise wherever you stay centrally. Owners are super laid back and helpful. Stop reading this and book it.

tIt was positive that the flat is in the center of Amsterdam. Short way to many places in Amsterdam. Nice apartment.

The only negative was that it was only cold water in the dishwasher.

Very confortable apartment, owner welcomes you with a bottle of wine and little cakes from the city.
We recommand.

My family enjoyed an excellent short break & where very pleased with the accomodation & the beautiful location adjacent to the canal.The central position of the apartment made for a very relaxing holiday, as the kids were able to scoot off on their own with little traffic to worry about.Several good eateries nearby.The highlight was hiring bikes- given that Amsterdam is so compact and flat, it is a great feeling joining the thousands of other Amsterdammers pedalling about.

Our group visited for the third time incomparable A-dam and we really enjoyed our accommodation. It has everything you can dream of. located in the heart of amsterdam the apartment offers a spacious kitchen, several well furnished sleeping rooms and a comfortable living room with a great view on the beautiful town canal Singel. Thanks, we'll be back.

We are a family with teenage children and this apartment was ideal for us, providing a base for exploring Amsterdam. The apartment is very clean and comfortable with good beds and an amazing view of the Singel canal from the sitting room. Patrick and Rachnel were friendly and helpful hosts and readily available to answer any queries. We had beautiful weather and were able to visit key attractions such as the Van Gough Museum and the Anne Frank house on foot with ease. A good tip - book the Anne Frank house online well in advance before you go as it is very popular and you will queue otherwise! Also expect to queue for entry to the Van Gough. Both are excellent, though and well worth the wait. There is a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes very close by and a supermarket too. If you travel from the station by tram on arrival, investigate buying a travel card for the tram and metro networks, especially if you are likely to travel further afield. The boys in our group enjoyed a very easy trip to the Amsterdam stadium, home of Ajax FC.

That was great holiday. Our landlord showed good hospitality. The apartment has perfect location and beautiful canal view. There is no need to say anything about house, everything was gorgeous. We look forward to coming back to Amsterdam, of course staying in this apartment.

We were group of four and all agreed that the apartment was great value. Having visited Amsterdam a few times before was suprised how spacious it was and the view from living room along the canal made it a perfect place to sit and relax.

Location is perfect, 5 - 10 mins from bars/coffeeshops/cafe's along Singel and toward Dam sq and centre, also not far from Leidesplien. Tram stops almost outside. A great apartment for folk wanting a little of everything in Amsterdam but like a comfortable place to retreat to. TV in lounge and master bedroom and some decent speakers!

The only negative point raised was faint smell of fumes from shop below during the week but wouldn't let that put me off, would stay here again.

If you're looking for a really cool and nice an tidy apartment in Amsterdam's bustling city center, within the 9-Streets shopping district, with a great view from every room, with great facilities - you've found it on the A004.

Five minutes to walk to several Tram stations, five minutes for the supermarket (Albert Hejin), five minutes to the legendary flower market and just over the gracht to the nearest coffee shop. You have cool flatscreen TV with about 1000 channels, Radio, DVD, bla...everything. Ian, who checked us in and Patrick, who checked us out (him belongs the signs-shop at the house's ground floor), are both very cool guys: nice, friendly and very professional. Late checkout at 6pm on a Sunday was no worries at all.

Above all Apartment A004 is a great apartment to stay when in Amsterdam. If the price stays at the current level, it's hard to be topped. We'll definitely return there the next time we're in town.

Well what top say?? This apartment is in a stellar location with a lovely canal and street view. There is a couple of cafes and coffeeshops close by and more restaurants and the flower market a 5 minute walk away. The rooms were at least as good as what you will find in any local hotel. The livingroom is quite comfy and good to flop down into.

Having the kitchen was a nice option though we never really used it.....but the fridge was full of our favorite beverages.

The renter is great and overall we enjoyed our stay and our experience very much. You will not go wrong with this apartment.

This is the second time we have stayed at 410, and as usual the house was spotlessly clean. The house is in a great location with plenty of room. Ian the manager is lovely and is also happy to help with any aspect of your trip if you need it. We are already looking forward to our return next August. Kind regards Mrs Helen Radford.

Séjour parfait dans une house superbe, parfaitement bien équipée et décorée de façon personnelle. On s'y sent comme chez soi ! A conseiller à tous ceux qui apprécient le calme d'un canal paisible loin de l'agitation du centre ville mais très facile d'accès par le métro ou le tram qui sont à 5/10 mn à pied.

We really enjoyed this spacieous 3-storey apartment overlooking the Singel. Except the cosy living room, a well equipped kitchen and a good bathroom we had 4 bedrooms for us 6 persons, with wonderfull large windows. We just sat there with our feet outside the windows and looked at the street life. The apartment is right in the middle of everything and we didnt use public transportation much, as almost everything was in walking distance from our place. I can highly recommend this apartment in a typical beautifull Amsterdam canal house.

It's very pleasant place which is located close to everything interesting in Amsterdam.

We realy enjoyed to be in a so nice apartement inplemented in a nice place near all facilities to vistit le center. Ian is a really well and helped host. I will recomend this to my freinds and I also be sure to come again to continue the visit.

A fantastic apartment in the best location possible; close to tram stops, shops and restuarants, and yet quiet and peaceful. The views across Singel were delightful. Within easy walking distance of all attractions. Ian was welcoming and informative. We'd love to stay there again.

Five of us stayed here for my Dads 65th Birthday celebrations. The house is amazing, you really feel like a local and such a great location too. It was a very easy walk to all the brilliant sights of Amsterdam and the view over the canal from the main rooms is amazing.
Ian was very welcoming, we shocked him by arriving a day early - a mix up with the dates on our part I think. He coped admirably and dispatched us to the local bar whilst he readied the house for us in less than an hour - wish I could do my house that fast!!
The Restaurant Ian works in - Lunde across the canal was lovely. The food was excellent quality and served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We had my Dad's 65th birthday celebration meal in there.
The apartment has great heating, which you do need in the winter in Amsterdam and the stairs are steep as you would expect from a canal house, but manageable for most people.
Much better than a hotel for a group as we had our own personal space for family celebrations and relaxing together.
The only minor negative point is that it can be noisy in the evenings when people leave nearby bars, but you would find that in most large cities.

The apartment was cosy with great views over the Singel. The location was spot on with the majority of the city's attractions within walking distance. English property manager was helpful and punctual. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time staying in this canal boat. It is very comfortable with perfect views and a great location. We could not have had a better time and are trying to figure out when we can come back.

410 Singel was the best!!! loved everything about the apartment, fully functioning and comfortable. Ian was so great he met us exactly when we agreed upon. Ian was so nice and kind to us, he knew the best spots to eat and get great buys at, he returned our deposit before we our flight, and Ian really is the best reason to stay at 410 Singel not to say the location is the best a few meters to the tram stop. The view is GREAT love the top floor bedroom has the best view!! We have used H&AH before and found it to be the best price for what you get.Thanks Ya'll and thanks Ian see you again next year!

What can be said about this beautiful apartment in Amsterdam.....It is ideally situated and Ian couldn't of been more helpful in explaining every aspect of the apartment from the microwave, to the hsitory of the building and surrounding fine eatteries...I have only one major complaint and that was the free wi fi which Ian was unable to connect for us...As internet was required for business purposes, it was a major factor in the type of accomodation we required and therefore it cost us 15 euros a day to ensure we received internet access......another nice touch may of been tea, coffee and milk for arrival after our flight....other than that it was a beautiful stay

This apartment was really beautiful and very nicely situated within walking distance of all places of interest. The house was really clean and the beds are so comfy!! You will definitely have a lovely time here!

Had a super five days in a beautiful house with a fantastic location. Perfect spot with a beautiful view of the comings and goings on and around the Singel.

Fixtures and fittings a little tired (TVs in bedrooms not working; light bulbs out in several rooms; someone else's clothes in the wardrobe) - slightly disappointing, but did not spoil a happy holiday.

We stayed at this apt. from the May 11th-15th 2009. Great location, Ian was very nice and accomadating, the only problem we saw was that it was not very clean. It was picked up, just not what we call clean but we are clean fanatics so.....
I would stay there again though!

Lovely canal house set on Singel Canal,perfect base, close to everything in central Amsterdam. Ian was a very welcoming host and very flexible on leaving the property. I visited with my husband and two teenagers, we had a fab time.

Myself, two sisters and a brother stayed in this lovely apartment for five days (6 - 10 April 209). It is clean, has 4 great bedrooms and a beautiful view over the canal from the lounge. We were situated close to the centre of things but far enough away not to hear anything, the apartment is in a lovely quiet area. We couldn't have asked for better and if we ever decide to go back to Amsterdam we will be in touch and would definately stay in the same apartment. The one overall problem with Amsterdam is that it is not disable friendly anywhere.

Lovely apartment. Excellent location - situated in a more upmarket area of the city. Try the Luden and 5 Flies restaurants on nearby Spuistraat. Plus there are plenty of smarts bars on the surrounding streets. And a 'coffee shop' just over the bridge. Well worth considering a stay at Singel 410 - I know I will definitely be coming back!

very good appartament!

We have just finished a long weekend at 410 Singel. If you want to see Amsterdam then sit in the window for an hour, you will be sure to see a little slice of just about everything that Amsterdam has to offer!

Location is just perfect for short walks to just about everywhere, and the equipment and specification of the apartment is just as advertised. We have stayed in Amsterdam many times, but never in a better location.

Only problem is the internet conection, only avaiable by cable.
Should have a wireless router.

My family just returned from a week in Amsterdam staying at 410 Singel. Being personally greeted by owner Ian Johnson to show us the lay of the land was a perfect beginning to a perfect week! The unit is absolutely gorgeous, spacious, clean and comfortable. Our favorite pastime was watching the people passing by over the canal. Ian had even put up a Christmas tree for us so we felt totally at home.

The only thing I would warn people about is the street noise. Not being from the city we found it difficult to sleep until we invested in earplugs! Amsterdam is a city that never sleeps so come prepared!

I would recommend this unit and would definitely rent it again if I return to Amsterdam.

Spent there an august weekend. Impressive location, nice three level apartment with great canal views and modern equipment. Quiet enough despite being in the city center (8 min walk / 2 min ride to Dam Square). Best value for money when sleeping 4 people or more (up to 7 allowed, though sharing rooms). Only one bathroom. Only cable internet access (maybe it's time to move to wifi, Ian). Will repeat next time with no doubt. Thanks for everything, Ian.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in Amsterdam. The apartment was just what we wanted and in a convenient position. We liked its position being over a shop and not in a block of many apartments

We stayed in this apartment for 4 nights and did not want to leave!! The apartment is very spacious and was a great place to relax and hang out, but also very central to alot of different attractions in Amsterdam. The view over the canal is stunning. The four bedrooms were excellent, kitchen and dining room facilties were excellent and lounge with internet access was great. A well maintained and friendly environment for a relaxing stay in Amsterdam. If we ever return to Amsterdam, we will be looking to rent this place again.

We loved the location of the apartment - a short walk from everything, such as the floating flower market, restaurants, bars and a supermarket . Great view from the living room windows over the canal and bridge. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this apartment for 4 or more people. The only downside for our trip was being woken up twice at 7:30 in the morning by builders working in the shop below - (that was an unpleasant surprise to be woken so early on your holiday!) - although I think it was a one off as the shop was being refurbished. It would have been helpful to have known prior though! Gripe aside, decent apartment in the ideal location.

This must be the biggest apartment we have ever stayed in, beautiful, in the 9 little streets of the old french district Jordaan. The apartment litrally has everything you need, good kitchen, fridge freezer, comfy beds, large bathroon and spacious lounge with two sofas and chair as well as dining table (another dining table in kitchen) dvd and tv, internet connection for those lap top crazy kids, a selection of good guide books, a few dvds and books for the evenings, the heating got turned off by accident by the shop workers downstairs, you could always leave a note on their shop door to remind them to turn the heating on before they shut up ahop! All in all this is a perfect home from home (if you have a lovely home that is!) with all you need and transport links around the corner, There are great restaurants, cafes, coffeeshops withing throwing distance and a supermarket Albert Hein just down the road if you turn right from front of the house, also a good newsagent with british paper and chemists just around the corner.
Ian is fantastic, and i recommend you take him up on any offers of a tour if you dont know the area, he speaks 8 laungages so is deffinatly the man to help you have the best trip emaginable, Thanks Ian we will be back xx

My family enjoyed staying at Singel 410, amidst a thrilling city boasting with life. Surprisingly spacious apartment with both 17th century charm and all of today's conveniences.

The apartment was excellent and in an ideal location. Our host was extreemly helpful and we would go back.

Our recent stay (we are two, middle-aged couples) was excellent. The apartment was spotless, well equipped and within walking distance of all ameneties and diversions imaginable. The view from the lounge provided us with periods of delightful people-spotting, as locals and tourists used the canal and bridge in front of us.

The host, Ian, was friendly and although not needed, was available. He gave us the confidence that, should we have needed him, he would have been there.

We will try to secure this apartment first, the next time we visit the city.

Apartment 004 is perfectly located in one of Amsterdam nicest areas and offers easy access to all the best of Amsterdams sights. The accommodation is first class and very well equiped offering a real home from home.

The location is about as good as it gets, right in the heart of the city, but in the quiet "9-Streets" district. Das sehr schöne Appartment ist zwar nicht gerade preiswert, aber für Amsterdam-Verhältnisse nicht wirklich überteuert. Es liegt sehr zentral, man ist in weniger als 5 Minuten mitten in der City. Trotzdem liegt das Appartment vergleichsweise ruhig. Man hat einen tollen Blick über die Gracht. Es gibt 2 sehr schöne Schlafzimmer mit Gracht-Blick. Aber auch die anderen Zimmer sind sauber und komfortabel. Das Badezimmer ist neu, sauber und einwandfrei.Auch die Küche ist in gutem Zustand und problemlos nutzbar. Ich kann das Appartment A004 daher besten Gewissens empfehlen.

The location was perfect for our needs. We made good use of the guidebooks and maps, and appreciated Ian's introduction to the neighborhood.

It was a very hot week in Amsterdam, and the apartment was too warm. It would have been helpful to have room fans for the upstairs bedrooms.

Also we were a bit puzzled by use of the appliances, and would have benefitted with a guide to use the microwave and dishwasher especially.

The space was wonderful and we would definitely recommend this apartment to others travelling to Amsterdam.

My friends and I just returned from a four-day stay in Apartment A004. Everything was great, the apartment was beautiful, clean, kitchen and bathroom were very nice. The view out the window on the Singel was very lovely to see every morning. We were in the area to see a concert at the Leidseplein, which was a 5-10 minute walk (or 2 minute bike ride). We were also very close to shopping, good food right in the area, across the canal from a nice coffeeshop if you are interested in such things. Patrick and Ian were both very helpful and made sure we had everything we need. Highly recommended, and I am sure we will contact them again when we decide to come back!
