Appartement Amsterdam - Péniche Amsterdam - Location Appartement

My sister and I stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of December. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean and there is lots of room for 2 or even 3 people. Balthazar was welcoming and helpful but never intrusive. We appreciated the change of towels without having to ask, and also that we could control the heating of the apartment ourselves. The best thing though, is the location. It is about 5 minutes on foot from Leidesplein and only a few minutes more to the Museum Quarter. Even if you don't want to walk, there are plenty of transport options up on Leidesplein. Elandsgracht (less than 1 minute on foot) was great for nice restaurants and a supermarket. You can also take a bus direct to the airport (and thus avoid busy Centraal Station) from near Elandsgracht. All in all, we could not find any fault with the apartment and would highly recommend it. We hope to return!

Charming and convenient apartment with very congenial owner in the beautiful Jordaan district. Large kitchen window looks out on the locals as they come and go on their bicycles and scooters. Fascinating to see all ages as they pedal along, tinkling their bike bells and zipping across bridges. Babies, young children and small pets are toted in style on the front or back of the bikes. Bikes flow seamlessly with cars, but also come out of nowhere at times. Pedestrians are always expected to stay out of their way. Fast reflexes are needed to prevent collisions.
GREAT apartment for experiencing Dutch culture in the big city. First thing: get a map and a 24-hour tram/bus pass at the information center in Leidespleine (about 10-15 min walk). Public transportation is so much easier than in other large cities. If you get lost, most everyone knows enough English to help you.
Our good finds closeby: divine panne koeken and hot chocolate. Waterloopleine and the 9 streets area for shopping. SPUI (near university) to sit and people watch. Anne Frank house - a must - just be sure you can climb steep steps!
Best of all about staying here: the money we saved on food. Fun to go to Albert Heijn grocery and bring back delicious things to fix, and eat in comfort at the apt.
Safe, clean, not in the middle of tourist central. Highly recommended.

Visit Amsterdam a couple of times a year for a few days, and prefer to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel. Very pleased with the canal studio on the edge of the jordaan, this is our favourite area of Amsterdam and it is easy to get to all the other areas from here. The studio was very clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was partitioned off from the sleeping area making it very cozy. It looks nice on the website but is actually even nicer when you see it. We were met by the hosts Balthazar and Pamela who answered any questions we had, and welcomed us with a bottle of wine. Would recommend canal studio to couples who like to cater for themselves. Nice location on a canal

This is a lovely apartment for a stay of two or three people. Listed as a studio, it really felt more like a one bedroom due to a dividing wall and door which separated the bedroom/sitting room from the kitchen. It was very clean and described as on this site. The location at the edge of the Centrum proper meant that while you were close to all the city has to offer, you are not in the more congested and seedy areas, making it nice for families. Around the corner was Elandsgracht, which had everything you would need for a stay. Would highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in having their own place to themselves.

My wife and I were completely satisfied with our stay. The studio is perfect for two people, it could even accomadate three. The area is perfect for getting around the city, the tram and bus stops are close by and walking to many areas is also easy.
The studio is well appointed, everything is situated very nicely. The area directly around the studio is clean and seemed to be completely safe. The Cafe Chaos is two doors away and offers food and drink as well as free WiFi, which is a big plus. It is open late but even on a week-end night it is quiet.
Our hosts, Pamela and Balthazar, were quite happy to give us any help or information we needed. It was nice that they live right above as they were always available, but never intrusive. All in all, I will reccomend it highly and would without a doubt reserve it again in the future.

I though that the location of the apartment was well suited for those looking to experience real Amsterdam life without being in the middle of the tourist focused City Center and Dam Square areas. The apartment was a perfect size for a couple and was located in a great neighborhood.

Das Grachtenstudio ist gut und korrekt erklärt.
AS47 hat eine Superlage: von der öffentlichen Verkehrsanbindung her ebenso wie von der fußläufigen Erreichbarkeit der allermeisten touristischen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Dadurch war es immer möglich, zwischendurch mal "nach Hause" zu gehen zum Ausruhen, sich um die Ecke beim Bioladen oder Supermarkt mit Snacks und Erfrischungen zu Normalpreisen einzudecken und ein wenig später wieder frisch gestärkt nur wenige Ecken weiter zu Restaurants, Cafes, Grachten, Kino, Theater, Museen oder einem kleinen Ladenbummel loszuziehen. Gemessen daran ist das Studio ziemlich ruhig - abgesehen von hin und wieder kompakt auftretenden Fliegergeräusch-Überfällen.
Die Vermieter waren sehr zuvorkommend und wunderbar unauffällig.
Insgesamt: eine lohnenswerte Übernachtungsmöglichkeit.

We were very happy staying at this apartment. We compared various accommodation options before leaving, and we are sure we made the right decision with this canal studio. It is very conveniently located, walking distance to the city center, yet far enough to provide quiet for rest. A couple bus lines make traveling between the studio and airport extremely convenient. The hosts are very friendly and gracious, provided recommendations for our stay and the neighborhood, and helped make for a wonderful stay. Good restaurants, bakeries, small supermarkets, and ATMs are all available on the block or nearby cross street. A couple bus and tram lines stop a block away.

We booked Canal Studio AS47 without finding any reveues from other guests. That made us feel a bit worried that the photos in the website would lie. We arrived quite late in the evening, and was welcomed by the host. And right away we could see that the studio would be a lovely place to stay. It was really clean, it had no tired surfaces, it provides everything you need, like a little kitchen with plates and glasses, refridgerator, hairdrayer, iron, a very nice bed with nighttables, with good readinglight. The bathroom was nice, with good place for all the things ladies carry with them on a trip like this...
The hole place was well decorated, nice colours, everything had a fresh and nice feeling to it. The studio also felt large in size, a luxury in Amsterdam, if used to small hotelrooms...
The studio is situated in a little street with a canalview, with a larger street right across the canal. Altough when we stayed there it was a musicfestival only short walk away, we had never any problem with noise.
The area is really nice, on the border to the pretty Jordaan district, lively, with nice little pubs and restaurants, and many nice shops. In the other direction is Leidseplein, only few minutes walk.
We would highly recomend this facility to other travelers, and have already done so. We would surely like to come back to stay on another trip to beautiful Amsterdam. Thanks for the stay :)

Hello: This studio was booked by my husband Avi Luxenburg, but I and my daughter stayed in it for 5 nights.
The studio was spotlessly clean, owners live upstairs and were very helpful, the location is excellent, walking distance to everything - lots of great food and shops around that cater to residents of the area - not just tourists. We were able to get a real sense of how the regular Amsterdam people live and relate - I would recommend it to anyone and I'd certainly stay again.

We have just had a lovely time in Amsterdam, staying at the Canl studio which is in a lovely location. A previous review recommended it's suitability for two people and I would agree.
We both felt very much at ease there. Television with a good reception of BBC etc was a bonus!
The studio was spotless and very quiet. We found the tea and coffee provided also helpful as well as the recommendations for eating out and shopping nearby.
We also appreciated being allowed to arrive early. Leaving our luggage for a few extra hours on the last day ensured we made more use of the time.
Personally, I would have slept a little better if there was a curtain or blind to block out the light from the street lamp. All in all, I would highly recommend this studio.

I had a very restful stay in this studio. It was walking distance to everything in central Amsterdam and I highly recommend it.

I would thoroughly recopmmend this canal apartment. It was much nicer in reality than the advert suggested. A lovely view over the canal, a few minutes walk from the final stop on the 197 or 370 bus from the airport. A 15 minute walk into the city centre through interesting canal streets with quirky shops and cafes. The street lies close to lots of useful ammenities - the Chaos cafe pub just a few metres away (a lovely homely pub - no noise problems from it), a nearby bar/cafe which did yummy breakfasts and lunches with a relaxed atmosphere, a nearby shopping street with cashpoint machine and a supermarket as well as restaurants and a 'coffeeshop'. There is also the vast antique centre and an internet cafe just next door. The flat itself is immaculate with a useful kitchen area for sitting to eat breakfast or lunch. The main room has a double bed which can be used as a double or a twin according to your needs and it has a pull down double sifa bed which I used for the 4 days with no side efects! The bathroom is a spacious shower room. All is clean with warm bedding and good central heating. The owner came to meet us at the busstation when we took a wrong turn and was very friendly and helpful but not intrusive at all. I would highly recommend.

The apartment exceeded my expectations. I was already familiar with the location, which is convenient to trams, Leidseplein, and the Jordaan and Negen Straatjes neighborhoods. It was surprisingly quiet at night, probably because the large sleeping area is set back from the street and separated by the kitchen. The landlord lives above the property and was quite nice. One nice bonus was the iron and ironing board, a feature quite common in the US, but always rare in European accommodations - a nice way to make rumpled clothes more presentable for the traveler! There is an Albert Heijn around the corner on Elandsgracht, as well as a laundry where I dropped off my clothes in the morning and picked them up by early afternoon. Elandsgracht has some excellent restaurants as well. I would definitely stay here again.

a great place to stay in amsterdam! around the corner from tram station for great connections to the dam and centre as well as the airport. the dam sq is about a 10-15min walk, though to truly feel amsterdam- you must rent a bike.
overall a nice cozy clean studio apartment!
PS: avoid bakery Lanskroon on the Singel!

The Canal studio form Balthasar and Pamela was very nice, the decoration was very tasty and every thing was new and clean. We were surprised that they changed our towls every day. The location of the studiy is very central but quiet too- the perfect place if you like to visite Amsterdam.
Balthasar was very kind and we appreciated the nice wine for a welcome present.
We can recomment the Canal Studio very much!
