House-Boat BK48 ***

Dieses ehemalige Frachtschiff wurde 2006 komplett renoviert. Das Boot hat eine moderne Ausstattung kombiniert mit einem traditionellen Bootsdesign. Der Eingang des Bootes liegt direkt an der Straße und ist daher einfach zugänglich. Das Boot ist sehr groß, der Eigentümer wohnt im vorderen Teil des Bootes und hat im hinteren Teil ein schönes Appartement für 4 Personen gebaut. Die Wand zwischen den Gästezimmern und der Wohnung des Eigentümers ist sehr gut isoliert.

Das Boot liegt im alten Stadtzentrum von Amsterdam. Vom Deck aus haben Sie einen großartigen Blick über einen charakteristischen Teil von Amsterdam und auf das Rembrandt Haus. Shops, Restaurants, Kneipen und Museen befinden sich in Gehweite.

Die Gästeräume bestehen aus zwei Schlafzimmern mit Doppelbetten, einem luxuriösen Badezimmer mit einem Whirlpool und einer separaten luxuriösen Dusche sowie einem Ess- und Sitzbereich. Das Appartement hat eine moderne Küche, einen Fernseher, eine Radio-/CD-Anlage und eine schnelle Internetverbindung für Ihren Laptop. Auf dem Deck haben Sie Stühle und große Kissen, um sich hinzusetzen und den fantastischen Blick über Amsterdam zu genießen.

Wonderful location, great place to stay

Three of us spent 8 days on this houseboat and it was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect: just off of Nieuwmarkt, close to the metro which gets you to Centraal and all the trams. We were delighted at how convenient everything was,both by public transit and, more importantly, by foot.
The houseboat was plenty big for three adults. We would take our time in the morning, enjoying the stove and fridge, and then come back again at night, using the free WiFi and relaxing on the deck or in the living room.
There were only two drawbacks that I could see: the fridge is just a refrigerator. There is no freezer, so Americans used to frozen food or ice cubes are going to have to adjust. Also, the main cabin (towards the bow)was too dark. Not sure if lights had burned out or what, but the fixture could provide more light. It's the one room that doesn't have great skylights, so it was an issue at times.
Yes, those are the only two things that were less than perfect. I enjoyed my stay very much and would recommend it to anyone.

Easter week on BK48

4 of us spent a great 4 nights here. Boat surprisingly spacious, beds very comfortable, excellent new shower, and whirlpool bath very relaxing (don't put too much shower gel in or you'll disappear under the bubbles!) The boat was a warm haven in chilly weather, with underfloor heating. The location couldn't be better, 1 metro stop from central station and just round the corner from the heart of things, yet in a quiet and safe residential area. Supermarket 2 minute walk. You have to be fit enough to negotiate the entrance to the boat via a vertical ladder. Would definitely stay here again.

No better way to see Amsterdam

Great location, well finished houseboat, gives a much better and more local perspective of Amsterdam. Very comfortable, warm and light.
