House-Boat B050 ****

Highly recommended for 4 - 5 persons! This former barge from 1897 has recently been transformed into a spacious luxury accommodation with a nice deck to sit outside. The boat is moored in the city centre and yet on a quiet and safe location without much traffic. Nice restaurants and cafes are all around, the Opera House and the Music Hall are within walking distance, as are the Zoo, Botanical Gardens and the Waterlooplein (flea market). It's a 15 minute walk to the Damsquare and Central Station. A supermarket is also nearby.

The design uses modern and warm colours. In the cosy wheelhouse of the boat is a dining table where you can sit for hours, with the doors open to the deck.  A few steps below is the living room with open plan kitchen. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a tub and the other with shower),  2 toilets and a nice deck. The boat is equipped with all modern conveniences, such as central heating, washing machine and dryer, flatscreen television and free access to wireless internet. Smoking is (only) allowed in the cabin. wonderful
by Raimondas Mikalajunas

We really enjoyed living in the traditional Amsterdam's house-boat, especially for our kids. Location is very central, you can easily reach all places of interest by foot. Also the canal and street is very calm and relaxed.
We definitely recommend this house-boat.

Kurzurlaub im April
by Eveline P.

Short break , 2 people, April 2013 .
by Marion Cresswell

Loved the boat , a classic barge ,very well renovated ..Shower room and bathroom really nice and modern , tiled wall to ceiling in white tiles . all very clean ..Rest of barge ,bedrooms ,living room , dining area all very cosy .
Location great , opposite Zoo . really quiet ,no traffic noise , short walk to supermarket , quiet bars , restaurants ,Windmill and Zoo .10 minute walk to naval museum ( a must visit !, ) and "hop on ,hop off" canal boat stop .
15 minute walk to train station .
Only sounds to wake you in the morning was from the Zoo , calls of the lemurs ,wolves and other animals ? .
One evening we sat on deck and watched the lemurs leaping around in the trees opposite and the herons landing on their nests - we wished we had brought binoculars !
Carolien who looks after the barge , let us in and showed us around . She was very helpful , and booked us our taxi to collect us, to take us to Airport at end of our holiday .
Would love to stay at the barge again .!. .
