Houseboat B023 ***
On a beautiful spot on the Amstel River, where you can see the sundown, lies this graceful luxurious barge. It is suitable for 3 - 5 persons. It lies in front of café/theatre "de IJsbreker" where they serve a delicious breakfast from 9 a.m., but also a nice dinner. There is room-service on board till late in the evening (1 a.m.) and you can order directly by phone. Samantha Brown, the hostess of "Passport to Europe" on Travel Channel, stayed on this boat. She filmed Amsterdam during a tour on a sloop through the canals, guided by one of our hosts.
The former cargo-ship from 1907 has been completely renovated into a comfortable houseboat in 2002, with a central heating sytem, shower and seperate toilet. The living-room has an open (new) -plan kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, oven, washing-machine and dryer. There is a bedroom with a double bed and in the fo'c'le is a single bed. The two couches in the pretty livingroom can also turn into beds. It lies close to houseboat BK09 that has a guestroom for 2 persons, so you can extend your group to 6. Chairs with cushions welcome you on a nice, sunny terrace. The houseboat lies close to the old and stately Amstel Hotel. Internet connection is available.
