This houseboat is perfect for a romantic break in Amsterdam. It lies not far from the Jordaan, one of the most pittoresque neighbourghoods in the centre and it's around 15 minutes walk to the Damsquare from its location. The boat is tasteful decorated with a modern romantic design by a renowned Dutch interior architect.

It consists of a hall, living room with lounge sofa and flatscreen television, a fully equipped open plan kitchen with oven and a senso coffee machine and a bedroom with queen-sized bed and a second tv. There is a beautifully open plan bathroom with shower and a walk-in closet. Outside is a terrace with comfortable modern chairs and a hammock .
 
Further is a dvd/cd player, radioset and fast wifi internet connection at your disposal, and a washing machine and dryer. Reviews.

Very nice and great location, but...

It's a very nice houseboat, good space inside, comfortable bed, and it's in short distance of everything (we walked to almost everything we wanted to see).
But it was a HUGE disappointment to see that the terrace with the two chairs in the picture, is not there anymore. The main reason that I picked this boat over several other (cheaper) boats, was the possibility to sit on the outside terrace, having a beer and look at the boats coming by.
So the information that says "Outside is a terrace with comfortable modern chairs and a hammock" is not true anymore. Now it's just a tiny wooden bench squashed on the side of the boat, where there's no sun, very little view and absolutely not comfortable.

Fantastic Amsterdam experience!

My husband and I had a fantastic experience in Amsterdam, thanks in big part to this houseboat/ark. It's about a 15-20 min walk from the centre, but as New Yorkers that didn't really phase us. Just wanted to point that out in case you're not used to walking a lot or want to be in the middle of everything. Also, there is lots to do between the boat and the centre, so suggest you explore the surrounding neighborhood.
More about the boat, it was our first time staying on one and would do so again in a heart beat! It's spacious, has a fully stocked kitchen, nice outside area, washer/dryer, separate shower/sink/toilet (which is nice so you're not stepping on one another). Since it's an ark, I don't remember any swaying (no motion sickness). We were concerned about noise at first and were pleasantly surprised that we have no complaints. One of my favorite things was to feed the swans and ducks bread from the outside deck.
To sum it up, can't wait to return to the city and this great houseboat!
