House-Boat B045 ****

William J. Kole wrote a nice article in this boat for ABC News. This spacious-living vessel enjoys no doubt the most stunning spot on the whole Amstel River as it docks right at the foot of Amsterdam's famous icon, the Skinny Bridge, and within reach to nearby historical & cultural landmarks such as Royal Carré Theater, Hermitage Museum, Jewish Museum, 17th century Synagogue, Rembrandt House, Opera House etc. Just one block from the boat's front door is Amsterdam's most quaint yet bustling high street, Utrechtsestraat, offering a great number of unique, eye-catching stores from lifestyle, interior design, fashion, gifts, gourmet food, music to literature & overwhelming guests with authentic cafes, trendy bars & a global flair of cuisines/restaurants.

Superbly transformed from a former freighter into a modern & high standard living space, this vessel can accommodate up to 6 persons. There are original features & elegantly reserved such as iron beams, portholes & steering wheel.

The former captain deck features the original steering wheel & now serves as the boat's entrance. Turning left is a small staircase leading down to a fully equipped kitchen. Here guests can find any modern cooking/kitchen wares to prepare any meals of the day. Next is the grand open-plan dining/living room area & brighten up by natural daylight thanks numerous sunroofs, windows & portholes. The living room features a large-comfortable sofa & two armchairs for guests to relax & enjoy various home entertainment systems: large LCD-TV, Hi-Fi system, CD/DVD player, i-Docking, free Wi-Fi while marveling the Amstel River's spectacular view. Nearby is a cozy dinning area where a dinning table is provided with six chairs for guests gathering with family or friends for meals.

There are three sleeping areas. The main bedroom features a double bed & TV & has a direct view of the Skinny Bridge. Opposite the main bedroom is an amble wardrobe space for guests' belongings. The second sleeping area is an open-plan & has two single beds, here the Skinny Bridge is also in full view. The third bedroom is located in the kitchen area & has a double cupboard bed.

The spacious bathroom is located after the main bedroom & it features a modern shower unit, WC, a large marble face-basin & a state of the art Jacuzzi bathtub for guests to relax & indulge any hydrotherapy session. For outdoor enjoyment of the Amstel River's dazzling view there is a seating area provided on the boat’s upper deck.

House Boat B045
by Chris Hawes

We stayed here with our 2 kids for 4 nights at the end of May 2013.
I've stayed in hotels and various other accommodation all over the world.
This, without doubt, is the most wonderful place I've stayed. The boat is fantastic, the location is perfect and the City looked lovely as summer finally arrived.

Fantastic Stay
by Bruce Sabin

We just recently completed our stay. This boat is recommended on several levels. The family that owns it is friendly and they treated us very well. We were 4 people and found the to be spacious enough for all of us.The boat is well appointed. It has comfortable furniture and beds a well stocked kitchen, strong wi-fi signal, and a good iPod docking speaker. Having this made it feel more like a home and gave us a real feel for living in Amsterdam (p.s. it's a boat be prepared to duck). It has an unbelievable view being right in front of the Skinny Bridge.
The bridge and the river have their own life. When you're on the boat watching the people cross all day, having it being drawn up seeing it lit at night is just awesome. Sitting on top with a glass of wine watching this has to be seen. Watching the life of the river with commercial, tour, party craft and everything else adds to an incomparable experience.
The neighborhood that the boat is situated in, is unbelievable. Everything you need is within walking distance. It is a short walk to Rembrandtplein. The 9 and 14 trams are right around the corner. The best Indonesian restaurant in the city is right around the corner. If you need to stock the kitchen you must go to Markt on Utrechtstrasse. There's an incredible patisserie (Kuyt) right around the corner, you'll be able to find it by breathing.
If I ever do go back to Amsterdam, I would definitely book this boat without hesitation.
